Q. What is the schedule of events?
A. The 2021 Focus graduate weekend program will be a multi-session, multi-day, interactive and immersive virtual experience (Friday through Saturday). Accepted participants should plan to dedicate the entire time to taking advantage of the many elements provided, including virtual department and lab tours; academic, research, business, and government workshops; admissions and financial info sessions; networking opportunities; one-to-one faculty meetings; engaging opportunities with graduate faculty, alumni, students, and staff; and much more. A detailed schedule will be provided to accepted participants closer to the program date.
Q. When will I be notified of my application status?
A. Applicants will receive application status notifications no later than November 20, 2020. After careful review of your application by the respective department, you will receive a notice of accepted or denied. Your application may be reviewed at an earlier date and notifications may be received any time between October 31, 2020 and November 20, 2020, based on the application submission date.
Q. What cost does the Focus Program cover?
A. The Focus Program covers session fees and materials.
Q. When should I plan to take part in the 2021 Focus program?
A. Plan to be available to participate January 15 - 16, 2021.
Q. How will I receive updated information regarding the Focus Program?
A. Direct correspondence to applicants will be distributed through email. It is important that you provide an email account, which you access regularly, on your application. Once accepted, applicants should check their emails (including spam) frequently between November 20, 2020 and January 13, 2021 for Focus correspondence.
